Localized Depth of Galvanic Corrosion at Dissimilar Metal Welding A508/Inconel 182/316L

Recently, efforts have been made to develop the use of dissimilar metal welding in industrial components. Pressurized water reactors (PWR) nuclear power plants frequently (DMW) their primary systems (NPP). The selection combination stainless steel and low alloy is adjusted working conditions work high-temperature environments. Nickel-based Inconel 82/182 used as a weld filler GTAW method joining produce A508/Inconel-182/316L welds with variations immersion time material at high temperatures. depth galvanic corrosion related morphology using an optical microscope SEM, changes potential current density potentiodynamic polarization test, surface profiler (α -step) were thoroughly investigated. results showed that A508 generally suffered from attacks. Still, most severe attack was joint interface area A508/Inconel 182 due influence corrosion. These symptoms will not be seen if observed on outside only, but occur inside 182. Finally, there has change shape gap concave (depth effect) welded between because effects potential, density, materials.
